MCNAIR SCHOLAR AND FOS STUDENT, MONICA SOLOMON, ATTENDED A CONFERENCE IN ARIZONA WHERE SHE PLACED 8Th

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Second- year McNair Scholar and HEB student Monica Solomon was selected from all University of Florida McNair students to attend the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students in Phoenix, Ariz.

She presented her research poster on the Sidney Lanier School where she won the award for “Outstanding Poster Presentation” and placed in the top 8 of 120 students in the Social and Behavioral and Public Health category. The award came with a $250 prize and Solomon was able to speak with individuals from the National Institute of Health and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health.

The conference had 2,800 attendees, 1,400 student presenters and more than 250 exhibitors.
