Tuesday, October 6th, 2021

The MFOS team has recently expanded with the addition of Tyler Brown. Tyler serves as the Program Coordinator for the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program and First-Generation Student Success. She is a proud alum of the University of Florida and the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars program.

Tyler received her Bachelor’s degree in 2019 and has earned her Master’s degree from Florida International University in Higher Education Administration. During her time in undergrad, she served as an elected official for the Black Student Union, a Diversity & Inclusion Peer Educator for Multicultural and Diversity Affairs (MCDA), and a PAACT Peer mentor, just to name a few.

During her time away from the MFOS Program, Tyler has served as a Graduate Assistant at Georgetown University Center for Student Engagement and the Program Assistant for UF College of Dentistry. While at Georgetown University she was able to advise student organizations and help student affairs function smoothly. At the College of Dentistry, Tyler was able to work with student accommodations, facilitate orientation and other student focused events, coordinate the dental pathway for the SHPEP program and so much more.

Her journey with MFOS continues as she is now a Program Coordinator at the MFOS Office. As an alum of the program and a recent graduate, Tyler understands and has faced challenges you have or will encounter and will always root for you to succeed. She is excited to serve the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program and the First-Generation community.

MFOS Proud!
