First Year Students

REQUIRED TO RENEW MFOS:

• First-Year Florida (earn a C or better)
• Actively participate with your assigned peer mentor
• Two Financial Literacy Workshops (one in fall and one in spring)*
• 24 credit hours earned annually
• 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA
• Family income remains under MFOS threshold as verified by annual FAFSA updates and possible Financial Aid verification
• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov. The FAFSA opens on October 1 of each year. To receive the best financial aid offer, complete the FAFSA as early as possible.

*Innovation Academy students will complete both Financial Literacy Workshops in the spring semester

SUGGESTED:

• Find community – get involved (Student Activities & Involvement, join First-Generation Organization, etc)
• Get exercise – join an intramural sport or check out the Recreational Sports facilities (including Southwest Recreation Center, Lake Wauburg, etc)
• Look into study abroad opportunities – visit the International Center
• Form study groups and check out the UF Teaching Center for a little extra help in some of your classes
