First Year Students

Build a Strong Foundation:

• Complete required semester expectations: All requirements information is available on your Cohort Canvas Page
  • Fall semester: Financial Literacy Workshop & Assignment
  • Spring semester: Professional Development & Assignment
• Attend CAMP MFOS before the start of classes (Summer B, Fall, Spring for IA)
• Attend cohort check-in group meeting with a MFOS staff member
• Register and take SLS1102 (First Year Florida) course either in Summer B,Fall , or Spring during your first year with a C or better
• Peer Mentor Engagement
  • Meet with your MFOS Peer Mentor monthly throughout your entire first year

**Note Innovation Academy Students will complete financial literacy and professional development workshops in the Spring.

SUGGESTED:

• Find community – get involved (Student Activities & Involvement)
• Get exercise – join an intramural sport or check out the Recreational Sports facilities (including Southwest Recreation Center, Lake Wauburg, etc)
• Look into study abroad opportunities – visit the International Center
• Form study groups and check out the UF Teaching Center for a little extra help in some of your classes
